Criminal Efforts On The Net

Some years ago I worked with a very obscure technology (okay I have worked with many obscure technologies but this one in particular). I am highly confident no one in Colorado uses that technology and perhaps no one in the country still uses that technology.

I am sure somewhere online, LinkedIn or an old online resume or something, my name and email are associated with that technology.

For the last two weeks or so I have received multiple emails each day claiming ‘Jobs using the technology in Colorado, apply here.”

I know they are bogus and I know the data is being harvested automatically (because no one would try to lure me with that technology or claim there are multiple jobs with that technology in Colorado, there are not) and filled into an email and sent out.

Are there more actual criminal efforts on the net than legitimate efforts? Bet the criminal efforts make more money.
